He is on the autistic spectrum and sometimes life can be difficult. Here are some fascinating fun facts from the West End production 🤩 📖 At 4ft 4in tall, Matilda Wormwood is the smallest leading lady in the West End. 📖 The sound effect of the Crunchem Hall School bell played at the start of the production is a recording of the actual hand bell used by RSC front of house staff in Stratford-upon-Avon. 📖 The Blackboard moves 15.5 miles over the course of a year at a top speed of 1.5mph. 📖 The sound effect of the crying baby in the song ‘Miracle’ is a recording of Sound Designer Simon Baker’s youngest son. 📖 Miss Honey and Matilda enjoy cups of real hot tea on stage complete with milk and a biscuit at each performance during the song My House. 📖 All voice over commentary used in the production is voiced by the musical’s writer Dennis Kelly. 📖 The Crunchem Hall School badge that features on the children’s blazers is designed by Quentin Blake.

Last year a lot of our students took part in BFLOC’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre. Directed by our very own Sophie, the show won the NODA award for Best Musical. Congratulations to all the cast and creative team on a wonderful win! 🏆💚 We’re missing a few munchkins and some adult cast members but we all wanted to pose with the trophy! 💪🏼

Can you believe that yesterday was International Mermaid Day? 🤣🙏🏾🧜🏻‍♀️ How appropriate 🐚 So excited and grateful for all the interest since posting about our next show yesterday! The Little Mermaid will take place the week commencing the 17th February 2025 at The Marine Hall in Fleetwood. Whilst this isn’t a junior production and is the full scale musical, it will be a youth cast for all Cou-Cou students/members 21 years and under. Rehearsals will start later in the year (timetable to be confirmed).
